THEY ARE NOW READY to go out and practice their chosen profession in the community.

With the theme, “Facing Emerging Issues and Building Better Future: A Call to Psychologist”, the Psychology department of Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) conducted a pinning ceremony to the twelve graduating BS Psychology (BSPsych) students to formalize their readiness for internship. The ceremony was held on July 18 at Check-Inn Hotel.

The guest speaker, Prof. Rogen Alcantara, chairperson of the Psychology department of Silliman University, advised the students to make a difference, to be a catalyst of change and endeavor, and to be a part of improving the quality of life. Meanwhile, University President Henry A. Sojor, in his message, said that psychology students must be on three categories - a Filipino in character, excellent in caliber, and global in perspective.

According to the batch’s Class President Ronel Depalubos, they are challenged because they will be very busy with their classes and internship at the same time and they have to do their best because their teachers expect a lot from them.

Depalubos added that they are going to have their internships within Dumaguete City. According to him, some of them will be assigned in the guidance department of some schools to help facilitate symposia and help in implementing action plans. He said that they will also help in special education in the community.
