Sojor orders PE teachers to return number tag fee

WHO SAYS THAT only students can complain?

If there is anything to describe some of the instructors from the Physical Education (PE) department’s stand against the university president’s written announcement asking them to return the P20 they collected from the students for the number tags, it is of subtle disagreement.

The university president has received numerous complaints from both students and parents questioning the P20 payment for tags which they deemed to be over collection since the students were already paying for the university identification card (ID).

In Sojor’s announcement, it was said that the number tags did appear to be another form of ID. He explained that only the school ID is the authorized credential thus any amount collected for the creation of another form of ID must be returned immediately.

He added that the PE department has no right to collect any additional payments for the said purpose.

It seems that University President Henry A. Sojor felt like the students of Negros Oriental State University are not only hardheaded but also beyond help. Perhaps, because of this belief he has cooked up a policy that is not only absurd but also ridiculous if not demeaning for an administrator of his stature. . .

I'll have the last laugh

I had always despised them. It has always been my dream to make them realize that they are not kings; that they are there to guide and not to belittle anyone.

The sun was at its highest peak when I entered the university premises. My lavender blouse was complimenting my cream skirt quite well. My necklace was not only flattering, it made my outfit perfect. There was something amiss, however. Not by my standards though and it made me nervous.

I was not wearing closed footwear.

As expected, the not-so-amiable man in white uniform confronted me before I could enter the gates of the university.

“Miss, dili na pwede kay tsinelas na,” he said.

I wanted to burst into laughter when he said those words, but I kept my posture and replied.  Read More >>>
